What is each part of the dashboard for?
A quick tour of the ResoFlow dashboard — sidebar, topbar, banners, and where Settings and your account live.
The dashboard is split into a sidebar (where you move between pages), a topbar (live status and quick actions), and the page itself. Here's what each part does.
The sidebar
Home sits on its own at the top, and the other pages are grouped into five sections:
- Front of house — Bookings, Orders, Pre-orders, Scanner and Wall screens. These are your day-to-day service tools. Bookings is one page with three views — switch between List, Timeline and Floor plan with the view switcher at the start of its toolbar; Wall screens puts screens on your walls (staff board, menu board, waitlist kiosk and more); and the Scanner reads event tickets, loyalty cards and gift cards on one screen (it only appears once events, loyalty or gift cards is available to you). (Orders is the Order & Pay board — it appears once that feature is available to you.)
- Your venue — Menu, Events, Staff and Your website.
- Customers — Customers, Loyalty and Birthdays.
- Grow — Marketing, Promotions, Gift cards and Extras.
- Money — Payments, Reports and Analytics. Payments is where every customer payment you have taken is listed; Analytics is your reporting suite.
Each section's heading is clickable — click it to collapse or expand that section, and the sidebar remembers your choice (per person, per device). A collapsed section still shows the page you're currently on, so it never disappears.
Only the pages your plan and products actually include appear in the sections — everything else (each with a padlock), together with products you can add and a More from ResoFlow link to Plans and products, gathers in one collapsed Unlock more section at the end of the page sections. Click its heading to open it; the sidebar remembers your choice. See Why does a setting show a padlock or "Available on … plan"?.
Pinned at the bottom of the sidebar — always visible, even when a short window means the page list above scrolls — you'll find:
- Activity log — a record of who did what.
- Help and support — the same help home your avatar menu reaches.
- Settings — opens your settings. On a big screen it reopens the settings page you last had open, with the settings menu and its search box alongside; on smaller screens it opens the settings category list. To leave settings, click the ✕ beside the Settings title in the topbar (or press Esc) and you're returned to whatever you were doing before.
- Your avatar — click it for Account, Switch to staff portal and Log out.
The topbar's menu button shrinks the sidebar to icons on a computer (it remembers your choice); on a phone or tablet it opens the menu drawer, which has the same pages, with Activity log, Help and support and Settings pinned at its bottom too.
The topbar
From left to right: the page title, the page's action buttons (for example New booking on Home), a live Open/Closed status pill, the clock, Shift notes (short notes for the whole team — click Add note then Post note), and the notification bell. The magnifying glass beside them opens search — one box that finds bookings, customers and settings (Ctrl+K, or ⌘K on a Mac, opens it from a keyboard).
Banners
Occasional strips appear below the topbar: the amber "new version ready" bar (see What's the "new version is ready" bar?), and warnings such as a quota banner when a monthly allowance runs out.
Dashboard vs staff portal
The dashboard (at /dashboard) is the full owner and admin view. The staff portal (at /portal) is the same system opened with a staff PIN on a paired device — staff see the same service pages, trimmed to what their role allows.
Your account
Click your avatar → Account to reach the account pages. They share one list down the side: Your details, Sign-in and security, Preferences and Your data, then Billing, Plan and usage and Top-ups and credits (those three are owner-only), with What's new at the foot. Help and support is not an account page — it has its own row in the sidebar.
