How do I connect Stripe to take payments?
Connect a Stripe account to take customer payments — deposits, pay-in-full bookings, extras, no-show fees, tickets and gift cards — paid to you.
Connect Stripe from Settings → Payments and deposits → Payouts and Stripe — it powers every customer-payment feature: booking deposits, pay-in-full bookings, paid extras, payment links, no-show fees, event tickets, online gift card sales and Order & Pay orders.
The Payments page is available with deposits (*Plus plan and above*) or with the Gift Cards, Tickets or Order & Pay products, and only the owner and admins can view it — but connecting (or relinking) the Stripe account and opening the Stripe dashboard are owner-only actions, so admins see the connection status without those buttons. Every payment goes directly to your own Stripe account — you are the merchant of record, and ResoFlow never holds your money.
Your Stripe account is your own. When you connect Stripe, you enter Stripe's Connected Account Agreement directly with Stripe (it includes the Stripe Services Agreement) — ResoFlow is not a party to it and never holds your funds. You sign in to your Stripe dashboard with your own Stripe login, and you are responsible for managing your Stripe account, including your payout schedule, your disputes, your business and bank details, and any information Stripe asks you for. All Stripe fees are yours: card-processing fees (which differ by card type and payment method), any dispute or instant-payout fees, and any other charges under Stripe's pricing — and Stripe may change its fees at any time; Stripe's current pricing page is always the authoritative source. ResoFlow's own platform fees are listed separately (see the fees guide) and never include Stripe's.
Connecting
- Go to Settings → Payments and deposits → Payouts and Stripe.
- Click Connect Stripe. You'll be taken to Stripe's own onboarding, where you enter your business details and the bank account for payouts. ResoFlow fills in what it already knows — your venue's name, its page on ResoFlow as your website and its phone number — so you only need to check them. Stripe also gives you your own Stripe login, which you'll use to sign in to your Stripe dashboard.
- Complete it yourself, as the owner: whoever completes Stripe's setup chooses the Stripe login and holds the venue's Stripe account, so ResoFlow's team won't complete it for you.
- When you finish, you're returned to ResoFlow and the card shows Stripe connected — "Your account is active and ready to take every customer payment — deposits, event tickets, Order & Pay orders (table, collection and delivery), gift cards, extras, pre-orders, payment links and no-show fees."
- If you left Stripe's onboarding part-way, the card shows Finish your Stripe setup instead — click Finish setup to complete the remaining steps. Deposits and paid events stay inactive until Stripe confirms your account can take payments.
Once connected
- Income and payouts (owner only) opens your Stripe dashboard — sign in with your own Stripe login if Stripe asks. It shows your real income, payouts, Stripe's fees and tax documents. Funds arrive on Stripe's standard payout schedule — the Stripe dashboard shows exactly when each payout lands. (Some Stripe accounts connected in ResoFlow's early days open straight in, without a separate sign-in — that's expected.)
- Your business and bank details are changed in your own Stripe dashboard — ResoFlow can't change them for you. Relink (owner only) only re-opens Stripe's setup form for anything Stripe still needs from you.
- Card payments only — ResoFlow's payment pages take cards, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Other payment methods you may switch on in your own Stripe dashboard (Klarna, PayPal or bank payments, for example) don't appear on ResoFlow's pages.
- Receipts — your customers' receipts come from ResoFlow's own emails. ResoFlow never asks Stripe to email them a separate one.
- Refunds — always refund in ResoFlow: from the booking, the order, the ticket, the gift card or the Payments page. It returns the money to the customer's card and keeps your records in step. If a refund is ever made in your Stripe dashboard instead, ResoFlow picks it up and records it against that payment.
- Disputes (chargebacks) are answered in your own Stripe dashboard. ResoFlow emails you the moment one arrives, with a button that takes you to it.
- Apple Pay & Google Pay switch on automatically — ResoFlow registers your payment pages with Stripe as part of connecting, so customers with a wallet set up see the Apple Pay or Google Pay option on every payment (deposits, pay-in-full, extras, payment links, tickets, gift cards and table orders). The Stripe card on Settings → Payouts and Stripe shows "Apple Pay and Google Pay are on for your payment pages" once they're live; if they're not on yet you'll see an amber note instead — card payments keep working as normal either way, and it re-checks itself, so no action is needed.
If your Stripe account is removed
If Stripe tells ResoFlow that your Stripe account is no longer connected to it, the card shows Stripe account removed: card payments stop straight away, and payments already taken are unaffected. Click Reconnect Stripe to connect again — a removed account can't be linked back, so Stripe's setup starts a new one.
Disconnecting
- Click Disconnect on the Stripe card.
- In the pop-up, type DISCONNECT and click Disconnect Stripe.
- You'll be asked to confirm your password.
Disconnecting unlinks the account from ResoFlow: deposits, pay-in-full bookings, paid extras, payment links, event tickets, online gift card sales and no-show charges stop working until you reconnect. Payments already taken are unaffected, and your Stripe account itself stays yours — you can still sign in to it with your own Stripe login. When you click Connect Stripe again, ResoFlow reconnects that same Stripe account if Stripe can still reach it — you only go back through Stripe's setup if Stripe needs something from you.
If the venue changes hands
Your Stripe login belongs to your Stripe account, not to ResoFlow, so changing the owner in ResoFlow doesn't move it. Either whoever set Stripe up hands it over inside Stripe itself, or the new owner connects their own: press Disconnect, then Connect Stripe — after a change of owner, ResoFlow sets up a new Stripe account instead of reconnecting the old one.
