Why can't customers book a certain date?

The usual causes — how far ahead customers can book, minimum notice, a closed or blocked date, or a full day.

The most common reason is how far ahead customers can book: only up to your Maximum advance booking days ahead (Settings → Bookings → When people can book — your plan caps it at 30 days on Free and 365 days on Plus, Pro and Complete), and a Minimum advance booking in hours can also rule out near-term dates. A date past the window can still be opened on its own — give it When it opens for booking on Settings → Bookings → Special dates (When people can book lists these under Special dates open early), and check its opening day (and time, if it has one) has arrived. It can never open past your plan's own limit.

Otherwise, check whether the date is closed: marked Closed by your weekly or seasonal hours (Settings → Venue → Hours), closed all day as a special date (Settings → Bookings → Special dates), or blocked for online bookings — a date's Online bookings closed on Special dates, listed on When people can book as Online booking blocked dates (which stops online bookings, though your team can still book). A special date can also take only certain party sizes online. Settings → Bookings → Special dates lists every date with rules of its own in one place, and Try a booking on Booking rules at a glance tells you exactly which rule stops a date — see How do I check which rules apply to a booking?.

Finally, a full day — every suitable table taken, Most guests seated at once reached, or a pacing rule set for that exact date (a one-off event day with a limit of 0, say — see How many guests can book at once?) — leaves nothing for customers to pick.
